Attorney Dutko was born in Allentown and grew up in Macungie. He graduated from Brandywine Heights High School in Berks County. After graduation, he attended the Allentown Police Academy and worked as a Lehigh County Deputy Sheriff and as a police officer at Kutztown University. Attorney Dutko returned to school to pursue his juris doctor degree. He began taking classes at Reading Area Community College. After a year, he transferred to Penn State Berks and earned his Bachelor's Degree in American Studies. He then attended Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law in Carlise, PA. In his second year, he was a certified legal intern with the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office. After completing law school and passing the bar, Attorney Dutko worked for a small Wyomissing-based law firm. There, Attorney Dutko focused on Criminal Defense and Family Law.
In 2017, he opened Dutko Law and began with a single office in Kutztown. In 2024, he was happy to add Attorney Corey S. Chwiecko and changed the firm name to Dutko & Chwiecko. In 2025, the firm took another large step and hired Attorney James Conville.Today, with offices in Kutztown, Allentown, Reading, and Pottsvile we serve clients in Berks, Lehigh, and Shuylkill Counties.
Attorney Dutko is a proud member of the Berks County bar association. He is a member of the National College of DUI Defense. In 2020 and 2021, Attorney Dutko was named Top 10 Criminal Defense Attorney by Attorney and Practice Magazine. In 2023, Attorney Dutko was proud to be named Top Lawyer in Berks County for Criminal Defense, DUI Defense, and Family Law. In addition to practicing in counties throughout Pennsylvania, Attorney Dutko is admitted in the United States District Court Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Attorney Dutko resides in Kutztown with his wife Judy. He enjoys golf, fly fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Attorney Corey S. Chwiecko is a graduate of Governor Mifflin School District and is a life-long resident of Berks County. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with degrees in History and Political Science. He then attended the Charlotte School of Law located in Charlotte, North Carolina. While in law
school he interned for the Berks County District Attorney’s Office. Upon graduating and passing the bar exam, he began his legal career as a full-time Assistant District Attorney. For three years he prosecuted hundreds of cases from minor charges to homicide. During that time, he was also the lead attorney for the DUI unit. In August of 2019 he left the District Attorney’s Office and began his career in private practice with a Reading criminal defense firm. There he learned the practice of criminal defense,
represented people charged with everything from speeding tickets to murder, and conducted dozens of trials and hearings of every kind. Attorney Chwiecko then decided to team up with Attorney Dutko and use his knowledge and skill in the courtroom to serve our clients with exceptional legal representation.
Attorney Chwiecko is a member of the Berks County Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in the Eastern and Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Attorney Conville is a graduate of Penn State University and the Widener University School of Law. His primary focus for over 30 years has been criminal defense, particularly DUI cases. During his career, Jim has defended clients accused of major felonies and misdemeanors. Attorney Conville has even taken a death penalty case to trial. Jim also has a position as a court-appointed criminal attorney in Schuylkill County. The court appointments also include PCRA appeals. Jim also represents municipalities and municipal authorities.
Attorney Conville joined Dutko & Chwiecko in December 2025. Attorney Conville will work out of the Pottsville office.
Jim resides in Port Carbon with his wife, Lisa.
